Investment Partners CAN HELP YOU
Self-empowerment is our goal for each young adult who benefits from the Foster Youth Life Investment Partnership.
The young adult must be working, going to school or actively seeking employment.
FYLIP will assist with life necessities, including, but not limited to, financial aid to prevent homelessness and unemployment. The young adult must provide an explanation why the assistance is needed, along with a working budget of income and expenses.
Contingent on funds availability, FYLIP will provide assistance two times (within a 12 month period) with each of the following:
RENT
Payment
for the foster young adult’s portion only.
UTILITIES
Payment
for the foster young adult’s portion only.
DEPOSITS
Limited to $250.00. Amounts in excess of $250.00 would be considered a loan and follow loan policies. This would be considered on a case-by case basis.
FOOD
Assistance will be provided when all other avenues of assistance are exhausted. There will be a $50.00 limit food assistance.
CLOTHING
Community resources will be utilized to fulfill this need. For items that cannot be obtained through these resources, up to $30.00 will be provided.
UNIFORMS
Assistance will be provided on a case-by-case basis. Assistance will be limited to $100.00.
VISION
Assistance will be provided to those ineligible for Medicaid, Casey or other community services. This will be limited to $250.00.
BOOKS
Assistance will be provided to those with a GPA no lower than 2.0. The check will be made out to the bookstore or FYLIP will reimburse the student when a receipt is provided. Assistance for purchase of tools necessary for vocational programs will also be provided.
MEDICAL
Assistance
will be provided to those ineligible for Medicaid, Casey
or other community resources.

FYLIP will NOT assist with phone bills, cable bills, Internet service, purchase of a car or car repairs.
Limits will not apply when grant monies for education, medical, utility assistance, emergency housing or books are used.
LOANS
Emergency loans will only be considered in the case of a young adult who is in danger of immediate homelessness or unemployment.
Each loan must be repaid within a 9 month period.
Individual loans will not exceed the amount of $200.00
The case manager will be responsible for ensuring the loan is repaid.
Failure to repay the loan will result in denial of future loans. |
